Maybe it’s unfair to call it summer slop, because truly, I have never been more intentional about my time than I have in recent years. Would my “activities” be considered productive? Probably not, but the things I do are far more attuned to who I am. A slob. I am all about relaxing and breezing through the summer. Looking at flowers, the clouds, the night sky and the sunrise. So maybe it’s a summer slob, or summer sloth.

Watching

I haven’t been watching any shows lately because nothing seems to interest me that much and I’ve been devouring more manhwas than I can remember but I did spend some time watching one Kdrama because of the actors.

Spooky in Love– Reigning as the queen under my KDrama category is Spooky in Love. Part comedy, mystery thriller, and romance, this is a light and fun watch. I really love the chemistry of the actors, who are both so good. I watch it after work or when I want to relax.

Reading

Look, I have a a number of novels in my Libby App. Among them: I Deliver Parcels in Beijing, Taiwan Travelogue, and The Parable of the Sower. But I just can’t get into any of them. Cue: Manhwas and novelles.

I Only Need the Duke’s Child– I started reading the manhwa but when the chapters ran out, I continued on with the novel. I love me some regression, marriage of convenience, angsty divorce, part smut.

June Peach– More angstporn, as recommended on Reddit. It’s about a couple who keep repeating their lives due to a curse. The premise is sad but I don’t feel that angsty thought?

Listening

Hate That I Made You Love Me by Arianna Grande- It’s just been on repeat. Is this about Ethan Slater? That’s unfortunate because I think this is my favourite Arianna Grande song considering I’m not really into her.

Nicole Kidmab by Adel- A late summer entry into my playlist. Two of my friends have been talking about it so I went to play it and am now just singing it every single chance I get. I also watched a Youtube Video dance tutorial and while I did learn the dance steps, I have now forgotten them.

Eating

Lemongrass Chicken– I’ve been frequently ordering lemongrass chicken but the best one I’ve had is from Lunch Lady. Meanwhile Pho Century House’s grilled lemongrass chicken salad wrap is also a bet.

9 Dumplings

Lately, I’ve rediscovered Robson Square Public Market. It houses many hidden gems. While most of the food stalls change over the years, 9 Dumplings has been a mainstay. I’ve been getting my to-go dumplings from there on my lunchbreak. Always so fresh and juicy at a good price.

Doing/Visiting

Fruit-picking

After work walks at Coal Harbour

I’ve taken to walks by the water during the days I finish work early. Sometimes, my friend Andy and I get off the same time and we walk and talk as the sun sets.

It’s been a good way to spend time together without actually spending.

And that has mostly how the every day of my summer has been.

Of course, there have been a few deviations to my routine but that will be for another time.
